    A Happy New Year 2013! 2013年明けましておめでとうございます

A happy new year, dear my friends! The last year 2012 was a life-changing year having such a rare opportunity to work in Bhutan, learning what is important to life and meeting wonderful people from various background. I believe that I should not keep this experience as merely a beautiful memory but practice what I learned on a daily basis and give back to society in one way or another.

My new job at IFC (International Finance Corporation, private sector development arm of the World Bank group) since last September has been very smooth, supported by great leaders and colleagues. As I get used to the job, I want to work more proactively pursuing out-of-the-box solutions. I will be rotated to one of the developing/emerging countries for 1 and a half years from this Fall.

My new year's resolution is to improve self-awareness (or spiritual well-being). I'm just inspired by a book written by a Japanese football player on how he practices Self-awareness for higher performance. I will do my best to get closer to his mental attitude.
Wishing you and your family&friends' 2013 to be full of happiness and physical&mental well being!

P.S. The photo is the children I met in a very remote and poor village in Bhutan (Lotokuchu, Samtse). I should keep questioning how my work will benefit those kids in indirect ways...
